Jerome Bixby -

- (1923-1998) was an editor and writer of science fiction, fantasy, horror, sports, action, westerns, and humorous erotica during the heyday of the fiction magazines. He is best known for four pivotal episodes of the original Star Trek, series, "Mirror, Mirror", "Day of the Dove", "Requiem for Methuselah", and "By Any Other Name". He also created the story for the film Fantastic Voyage and wrote the short story "It's a Good Life," a horrifying tale that was filmed for both versions of The Twilight Zone tv series and for The Twilight Zone: the Movie. His final screen project was The Man from Earth, produced by his son, Emerson Bixby. As an editor, Jerome Bixby was highly-regarded by his peers, and during the early 1950s edited such esteemed science fiction pulps and digests as Planet Stories, Thrilling Wonder Stories, Startling Stories and Galaxy Science Fiction and IF: Worlds of Science Fiction.
